In today’s media environment, situations are in a constant state of flux. Whilst working with the media can be exciting and challenging, it can also be a demanding and stressful environment.
Media Security Advisors (MSA) are individuals who deploy and work alongside the media integrating and operating alone, or as part of a team, providing security and medical related advice. A high standard of communication and the ability to integrate with clients supporting their aim is paramount. While in the close protection world, when something goes wrong, it’s upto the security specialist to secure their client and get them to safety. As a MSA, you have to support your client in being able to continue to cover the story in the safest possible way. We are media support specialists not close protection.
The 3 day MSA package is for individuals who want the opportunity to work in a unique area of the security industry; supporting news crews and documentary teams in the process of reporting worldwide, news, current affairs and programs to be viewed globally.
The course is endorsed by the Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (equivalent to a QCF level 3) and has been designed by individuals who have extensive experience working within the media industry in challenging environments, from natural disasters, war zones, riots and demonstrations, to documentary series. The course will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge of how the media industry operates and mitigates risks in order for you to work effectively in an industry that is constantly evolving.
Students will also be given access to the MiM – Human Investigation Management e- module [lie and deception detection techniques] to heighten situation awareness.
