3 day Domestic Awareness and Safety Course

Our 3-day Domestic Awareness & Safety Course has been designed for media individuals who operate in domestic environments where the risks they face can vary from their colleagues who operate in hostile environments. Risks such as natural disasters, CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear), riots/demonstrations, and terrorism occur closer to home and thus it is essential for personnel operating in these environments to have the correct training and knowledge to be able to operate effectively.

The professionals at TYR Solutions have the experience and editorial understanding of journalism to ensure your staff are correctly trained to operate with confidence in domestic environments, thus providing the duty of care you require. Our interactive course is delivered by instructors who have recent on the ground experience gained from a variety of challenging assignments and is continuously assessed and kept up to date with the current issues that your staff may face whilst on assignments. We will not standardise our courses, but what we will do, is provide the best training and support you will see within the industry.

The course is divided between medical and security lessons; it is delivered through interactive training mixing a combination of lectures, discussions, role-plays and practical exercises.

We will take you through both security and medical related subjects that are relevant to working in domestic environments, such as the prior planning stages of an assignment with pointers including self-sufficiency, conflict management, riots and demonstrations, IT/Communications Security, disasters and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) to name a few.

Our medical training will provide you with the understanding, knowledge, practical skills and confidence to be able to deal with casualties in a domestic environment prior to the emergency services arriving.
